Living in Poland longer than 90 days without renewing visas every few months? That’s what a residence card (karta pobytu) is for. It’s not glamorous — it’s practical: a legal stay, a proper work contract, crossing borders without that knot in your stomach.

At Hello Poland we’ve been handling these cases for years. Every client’s story is different: employed here, studying, running a sole proprietorship, or working through our business incubator. The voivodeship office looks at your file as a whole, not a generic checklist from a blog post. That’s how we prepare it too.

Types of permits we work with

Most people start with temporary residence (pobyt czasowy) — the card is issued for up to 3 years. IT specialists sometimes qualify for a Blue Card. Permanent residence and long-term EU resident status are usually later steps, not day one.

Common grounds for application

  • employment in Poland (employment contract or B2B),
  • studies at a university or school,
  • your own business or incubator cooperation,
  • family reunification, marriage to a Polish citizen.

Thinking of opening a company “for the card”? Talk to us first. Sometimes the incubator is faster; sometimes JDG makes more sense. We won’t push the expensive route if it doesn’t fit.

Documents — what they usually want

The basics: completed wniosek (application), passport, health insurance, rental agreement, photos 3.5×4.5 cm, stamp duty receipt, PESEL if you have one. Then proof tied to your ground — contract, bank statement, employer letters.

From 27 April 2026, applications for temporary, permanent, and long-term EU residence must be filed only online via the MOS portal (mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl). We help with the account, form, and attachments so you don’t get rejected over a blurry scan.

How we work

Short call → check if your ground actually works → document list for your case → application draft → urząd visit (alone or with us). Packages from PLN 680 (analysis and document list) to PLN 2,450 (full handling including appeal if needed). We quote after we understand your case — no bait pricing.

Why clients stay with us

We speak English, Ukrainian, Polish, and Russian. We reply to the office on your behalf when needed. After the card, we can set up bookkeeping if you’re on JDG — one team instead of three contractors.

Leave a request — first consultation is free. Easier to ask now than fix a refusal six months later.
